Meet Benson’s team of experienced professionals providing design, engineering, fabrication, and installation of custom curtain wall and facade systems.


Lance Howard


Lance is responsible for the organizational alignment, strategic growth, and overall performance of Benson’s global operations. He sets the direction for the company and is involved in formulating and implementing programs and policies that support the achievement of Benson’s core objectives.

Lance has 25 years of experience in the construction industry, and prior to becoming the President of Benson Industries in April 2016, served as Vice President of New Installation Operations for a global elevator manufacturer. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Pomona College and a Masters of Business Administration from San Diego State University.

Kevin Gjesdal

Chief Financial Officer

Kevin is responsible for managing financial risk, and accurately reporting financial information in a timely manner. He directs economic strategy, and the forecasting and modeling of the company’s operations. Kevin has 17 years of industry experience at Benson, and 25 total years of experience in financial leadership roles. Prior to working in private industry, Kevin was an Audit Manager at Deloitte & Touché, where he earned his CPA license after receiving his degree in Accounting from Oregon State University.

Jeff Heymann

Vice President, Business Development

Jeff has over 34 years of experience in the façade industry. “I’m consistently humbled and amazed of the privilege to be invited to consult with world class architects and builders, and have Benson’s experience, skill and quality contribute to the realization of their design aspirations.” Jeff attended Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland Ohio and SUNY Buffalo. A Western New York native, Jeff opened Benson’s NYC office in 2004 and relocated to the Portland headquarters in 2016. When not at work, he enjoys live music, hiking, cycling, exercise and suffering in quiet desperation with his hometown Bills and Sabres.

Patrick Blessinger

Corporate Counsel and Director of Contract Administration

Patrick has a broad range of construction industry experience ranging from his current role with Benson, to in-house with a general contractor and private practice with a law firm. Patrick earned two degrees from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida and his law degree from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon. When not at work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, traveling, camping, skiing, and watching his Florida Gators play.

John Frank

Director of Operations

John graduated from Texas A&M University in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Building Construction. He began his career as a project manager in the glass and glazing industry. After a few years working for a curtain wall contractor in the Dallas, Texas area he decided to try his hand at consulting. “For me contracting is better than consulting. Curtain wall contracting has taken me to numerous projects in the US and overseas, Malaysia, UAE and the Philippines.” John joined Benson Industries in January 2001, the door prize for joining Benson was a project in Kazakhstan. He was promoted to General Manager of the New York office in April 2005. In 2017 He was promoted to Director of Operations and moved back to Portland Oregon. When not working he enjoys playing golf and scuba diving.  

Craig Proctor

Director of Information Technology

Craig has over 12 years of experience and applied knowledge in the IT industry. He is currently responsible for overseeing all technological processes and operations for Benson Industries. Craig is a firm believer of embracing technology and knows that being on the forefront of technological advances can be a game changer. A native of Portland, OR, he attended Oregon State University, earning a Bachelor of Science (Management Information Systems) with a minor in Communications….Go Beavs! Outside of work, he lives and breathes Portland Trail Blazer basketball, is an avid golfer, ATV rider, hockey nut and proud father.

Kirt Smith

Director of Engineering

A native of Southern California, Kirt relocated to Portland in 2017. He has been working in the façade industry for over 16 years. “I am consistently amazed by the product our shop produces and our field crews installation abilities. I am proud to be part of the team that makes it all happen.” Kirt holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. In his free time, he enjoys boating, biking and anything outdoors.  

Chad Walswick

Director of Manufacturing

Chad started with Benson in 1999 as an assembler and quickly joined the Ironworkers apprenticeship program in 2001 in Los Angeles, CA. In 2005 he took an opportunity as plant manager of the Mexico assembly shop. In 14 years the operation has grown seven times larger employing upwards of 700 employees. “I’ve been privileged to work in this company with so many talented people, Benson has been my part of my family for 19 years and I enjoy every minute of it.” Chad resides in San Diego, CA, outside of work he spends most of his time in an off-road car or riding dirt bikes with his wife and two children.

Tim Walswick

General Superintendent

Tim has over 40 years of experience working in the glass and glazing industry. After serving a 20-year apprenticeship working with his father, he joined the Los Angeles Local 433 Ironworkers. Tim possesses an advanced level of AutoCAD training and has spent the last 34 years of his career installing and managing the field operations for Benson. His experience includes many of Benson’s most challenging and iconic tower designs throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia. He resides in Lake Havasu, Arizona where he spends his summers boating and winters off-roading.

Martin Vasquez

Pacific Northwest Glass Division, General Manager

Martin brings over 42 years of experience in the Glass and Curtain wall industry, 40 while with Benson. “I truly believe that Benson’s growth here and abroad is a direct result of our ongoing relationships with our purpose partners.” After graduating high school, Martin soon became an apprentice with local 740 Glaziers union while employed by Benson. 40 years later he is still maintaining Benson’s commitment to quality and customer service. While away from the office, he enjoys spending time with his family and an occasional golf game with friends.

Ben Gomez

Director of Design

Ben has over 15 years of experience in the design industry and currently oversees the design of all new projects during preconstruction. After graduating from the University of New Mexico with a degree in architecture, Ben spent his early career working with architecture firms on residential and commercial projects in New Mexico and Texas. After moving to Oregon in 2009, Ben joined the design team at Benson. During his time at Benson, Ben has lead the conceptual design for the Wilshire Grand, Sales Force Tower, and 181 Fremont projects. In his free time, Ben enjoys traveling, riding motorcycles, and spending time with his family.

Will Sullivan

Director of Preconstruction & Estimating

Will Sullivan, the Director of Preconstruction and Estimating is responsible for the management oversight of the preconstruction and estimating team. He is a native of the Pacific Northwest with over three decades of experience in the facade industry and was a journeyman glazier serving an apprenticeship with local 740–working his way up to field foreman before moving to the management side of the industry. Heading up the Benson pre-construction department, he brings his rich experience to guide the design of the building facades in accordance with project goals, concepts, and budget.

Will lives in Hood River with his wife where they can be found outdoors riding mountain bikes, cross country skiing or turning laps on his motorcycle.

Joseph Anderson

Eastern Regional Manager

Joseph Anderson, Eastern Regional Manager, has over forty years of exterior façade experience concentrating in curtainwall, windows and panelized wall systems.  Fourteen of those years have been with Benson working on iconic projects such as United Nations Secretariat Re-clad, One World Trade Center and many others after originally opening the New York office in 2004 along with Jeff Heymann. Joe attended the University of Pennsylvania, grew up in Philadelphia, and relocated to New York in 1987. He lives on the Jersey Shore and enjoys Sailing and the Beach during his summer months and traveling throughout the year.

Mark Mosher

Midwest Regional Manager

Mark has 33 years of curtainwall experience. Mark has been involved with projects in London, England; Kuala Lumpur Malaysia and Hong Kong in addition to Milwaukee, Chicago and New York in the US. Mark was raised in Northern Wisconsin and graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering, and during off seasons for the Badgers and Packers, enjoys hunting and kayaking.

Jeff Ricketts

California Regional Manager

Jeff has been working in the custom façade industry over 30 years. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, he relocated to Southern California over a decade ago. His background includes design development, manufacture, production and management of unitized wall systems. “I am so privileged to contribute to such a talented devoted team, the Benson family is as good as it gets within the industry. Every project we are involved with is executed to the highest standards to exceed the clients expectation; doing the right thing is not just a tag line here.” In his free time Jeff enjoys being on the ocean, cooking for friends and most importantly spending time with his wife.
